่้ป Wun Yip (c.1976)
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Wun is a fine art photographer, videomaker and story collector. She had spent 10 years living in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she received her bachelor degree from UC Berkeley. Her works include photography installation, film festival selected documentaries and experimental short films, as well as a multi-media installation that tackles the delicate issue of visual representation of marginalized cultures.
She has traveled to (or wandered around) various parts of the world, inlcuding Kyrgyzstan, South Africa, Southeast Asia, rural China, as well as some of the southern and New England states of the U.S.. Her unique way of traveling (often on foot and hitchchiking) has allowed her to live among local communities, and collect stories of those who are willing to open up their hearts to this lone traveler.
Besides making images, Wun makes a darn good cup of cappuccino, and a hell of a dance partner. She currently resides in Beijing.
